Happy New Year 2012
We would like first of all to wish each of you our very best for this year which
has just begun. May God shower you with His grace and may He accomplish His will
in your life. We, ourselves, would like to thank the Lord for His faithfulness and
His protection toward us for all of 2011. Thanks also to you, our faithful partners
in this work in the DRC.
Despite the unrest caused by the elections, the city of
Lubumbashi stayed relatively calm. We know that God heard the prayers that were
raised up to Him. It's during this time that we had a visit from Pastor Jonathan
Bersot (Drummondville). He taught at ISTHEK where his contribution was greatly appreciated
by our students. He also preached in our churches.
On Christmas eve we celebrated with a good meal. On the menu, a large chicken, a meat pie made by Marielle, cranberry sauce, various marinades, peas, and yellow beans. It was delicious, especially along with Saint-Hubert BBQ sauce. -Well, that we brought from Canada. However, the grocery stores seem to stock special foods at this time of year. We found Kraft Dinner, burritos, tacos, and even A&W Root Beer.
The Bible College begins classes on January 2, and I'll be teaching a New Testament Survey course. We will also distribute payments to our approximately 140 ChildCare Plus sponsored children. The families are blessed by this financial aid. We also gave out over $1100 of Christmas gifts in your name. A big thanks to all our sponsors who help transform the destiny of these little ones.
Prayer Requests:
-protection on the roads as we take care of ChildCare Plus and Seedbags
-preparation for our 3 month trip to Canada which will begin in April
-the 'Thirty Mighty Warriors' project - we have 11 so far, so please pray for the 19 that we still need
Your missionaries in DRC,
Pierre and Marielle
